Supino Pizzeria on Russell Street in Detroit’s Eastern Market neighborhood has been one of the city’s most celebrated pizza destinations since Dave Mancini opened it in 2008, building a menu around Neapolitan-influenced thin-crust pizza made with house-made dough, San Marzano tomatoes, and the quality ingredients that earned Supino a national reputation well beyond Michigan. What to Eat
The Margherita is the benchmark — San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil on a properly blistered thin crust that proves the dough is right. The Calabrese with spicy salami, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella is the spicy option most regulars return to after the Margherita converts them. The Bianca with ricotta, garlic, and olive oil is the white pizza that earns its own devoted following among regulars who consider it the best thing on the menu.
