Nic’s Grill on North Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City is a small counter-service burger spot that has been producing some of the best smash burgers in the state since Nick Papadopulous opened it, operating out of a space barely large enough to seat a dozen people with a kitchen that produces outsized results. It appeared in Season 7, Episode 3 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, “Name That Cook,” which aired August 17, 2009. Guy Fieri found a one-man burger operation where the cook is the owner and the quality control is personal — the kind of place where the food is great precisely because it can’t be anything else.
