Woodyard Bar-B-Que on Merriam Lane in Kansas City, Kansas started as a wood-selling yard — the business was literally in the name — before Bill Fleischaker added a smoker and started selling barbecue from the same property. The Smoked Brisket benefits directly from the wood yard origin story — the smoke quality is exceptional and it shows in the bark and smoke ring.
