The Park’s Finest BBQ – Los Angeles, California

The Park’s Finest BBQ on West Temple Street in Los Angeles’s Historic Filipinotown has been building a reputation as one of the most distinctive BBQ operations in the country since it opened, combining American slow-smoked BBQ technique with Filipino flavors — adobo-marinated smoked meats, longanisa sausage, and the Southeast Asian spice traditions that make The Park’s Finest unlike any other BBQ restaurant in Los Angeles or anywhere else. It appeared in Season 17, Episode 10 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, “L.A. Eats,” which aired July 8, 2013. Guy Fieri found an LA BBQ kitchen doing Filipino-American pit cooking with the authenticity and creativity that earns a restaurant its national food media reputation.

What to Eat

The Adobo-Smoked Brisket — beef brisket marinated in Filipino adobo vinegar and soy before going into the smoker — is the signature crossover that defines what The Park’s Finest does and that most regulars consider the best thing on the menu. The Longanisa Sausage, the sweet Filipino pork sausage smoked over hardwood, is the item that most clearly shows where the BBQ tradition and the Filipino culinary heritage meet. The Pulled Pork with adobo glaze is the American BBQ classic done with Filipino spice influence. The Garlic Rice — the Filipino staple — is the side that replaces standard BBQ bread and completes the Filipino-American fusion plate. Find a Los Angeles hotel on Trivago.
