Catelli’s on Geyserville Avenue has been the dining anchor of a small Sonoma County Alexander Valley wine town since the Catelli family first opened it in 1936, and the current incarnation under Nick and Domenica Catelli has brought the family restaurant back to life with a menu built around house-made pasta, locally sourced ingredients, and the Italian-American tradition that the original Catelli’s established across three generations. It appeared in Season 12, Episode 1 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, “Bar Food and Bon Bons,” which aired May 9, 2011. Guy Fieri found a Wine Country Italian kitchen doing things from scratch with the same family pride that opened the original restaurant in the Roosevelt administration.

The House-Made Pasta — fresh daily, in rotating preparations that reflect whatever the Alexander Valley farms are producing — is the centerpiece of what Catelli’s does. The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle is the pasta dish most regulars return for specifically. The Catelli Burger on a brioche bun with house-made accompaniments is the pub food option that earns its own following alongside the Italian menu. The Wood-Roasted Chicken with seasonal vegetables is the whole-bird option worth ordering for the table to share. The Tiramisu, house-made and properly soaked, closes every proper meal at Catelli’s.
