Dottie’s True Blue Cafe – San Francisco, California – Closed

Dottie’s True Blue Cafe appeared in Season 6, Episode 12 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, “Comfort Cookin’,” which aired June 29, 2009, as a San Francisco breakfast institution on 6th Street in SoMa that had built a multi-decade reputation around creative scratch-made breakfast plates, housemade jams, and the kind of generous, quality-first morning food that earned lines around the block before the DDD cameras arrived. Owner Kurt Kinzel and his team produced some of the most creative breakfast plates in the city — black bean cakes with poached eggs, corn pancakes, and rotating specials that kept regulars coming back weekly. Dottie’s closed its 6th Street location and the restaurant has since permanently closed.
