About Bobby’s Hawaiian Style Restaurant

Bobby and Diane Nakihei built the restaurant around the food they grew up eating in Hawaii. Bobby cured the kalua pig with Hawaiian sea salt, wrapped it in banana leaves, and roasted it for eight hours. The restaurant’s kalua pig recipe was featured in Guy Fieri’s first Triple D cookbook — Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: An All-American Road Trip with Recipes — which put Bobby’s in permanent print alongside some of the best restaurants in the country. Bobby also offered hula lessons and live Hawaiian music at the restaurant, extending the cultural experience well beyond the plate.

What to Eat at Bobby’s Hawaiian Style Restaurant

The Kalua Pig is the centerpiece — cured with Hawaiian sea salt, wrapped in banana leaves, and slow-roasted for eight hours. The Lau Lau — pork, beef, chicken, or fish wrapped in taro leaves and steamed — is the other traditional Hawaiian preparation the restaurant is known for. The Spam Musubi, Kalbi Ribs, and Saimin soup round out a menu that genuinely transports you.
