Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge was not a place you stumbled into by accident. The tiki bar on the Mississippi River in northeast Minneapolis was a full-blown experience: tropical drinks, pizza, fire-lit torches, waterfront seating, zombie slushies, and enough tiki kitsch to make your eyes work hard just to take it all in. It appeared in Season 2, Episode 5 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives — “Viewer’s Choice,” aired October 29, 2007 — and it was exactly the kind of place the show was built to find: genuinely original, impossible to categorize, and completely committed to its own vision.
Psycho Suzi’s closed permanently on August 19, 2023, after 20 years in operation. The Motor Lounge is gone, but it earned its place in the Triple D history books.

About Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge
Psycho Suzi’s originally opened in 2003 and moved to its Marshall Street location in 2010, where it sat on the bank of the Mississippi with a large outdoor patio and some of the best waterfront seating in the city. The interior was an assault of tiki decor — carved wood, tropical murals, skulls, vintage signage, and a bar stocked to handle the most elaborate tropical drink orders in Minneapolis. The food included pickle roll-ups, chicken sidecars, and a pizza program that kept everyone happy. Owner Leslie Bock closed it after 20 fantastical years, ready to hang it up and put on her retirement hat.
What Was on the Menu
The drinks were the headliners — zombie slushies, elaborate tiki cocktails, frozen drinks served in oversized mugs, and a bloody mary bar that regulars still talk about. The food included Pickle Roll-Ups, Chicken Sidecars, and a solid pizza menu.
